WILDLIFE INSTITUTE OF INDIA

The Institute was set up in 1982 as a nodal national agency to meet the urgent capacity building needs for scientific planning, management and research in the field of wildlife conservation.

COURSE BACKGROUND

The importance of conservation of biological diversity through the establishment and management of national parks and sanctuaries is now globally recognized.  Conservation today is not only important through such Protected Areas (PAs) but also significant in adjoining managed forests and other human dominated landscapes.  Professionals managing PAs require appropriate knowledge and skills in all aspects of management of natural ecosystems, ecological processes and functions.
