The Wildlife
Institute of India (WII) is a premier national autonomous Institute
of the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoE&F), Government of
India in the field of teaching, training and research. The WII
wishes to engage two Project Personnel for the preparation of
“Management Plan of Asan Conservation Reserve, Uttarakhand” through
a Walk-in-Interview on 19th March 2008. The
details of the available positions along with their essential and
desirable qualifications, terms and conditions and how to apply are
given below.

Essential Qualification |
M.Sc. (Botany/ Zoology/ Forestry/ Life Science/
Experimental Biology/ Environmental Sciences/ Biological
Sciences/ Wildlife Science or any subject relevant to
Wildlife Sciences) degree from a recognized University
with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks. |

Desirable Qualification |
Adequate research experience in various aspects of
wetland dynamics including water budgeting, water
quality, habitat diversity and its use by wildlife
particularly birds and local population.
OR
Adequate experience in using remote sensing and GIS
techniques in natural resource conservation including
knowledge of interpretation of satellite imageries and
working on software like Arc Info, Arc View etc. |

Brief description of the project |
Collecting and analyzing data on various aspects of Asan
Conservation Reserve including habitat diversity, bird
habitat selection, water budgeting, water quality,
socio-economic aspects and also presenting the entire
information in GIS domain. |

Time of start of the assignment: |
Immediately after the declaration of the results of the
walk-in-interview (within a week from the date of
interview). |

GENERAL:
-
Candidate applying for the above mentioned positions should not
be more than 28 years of age as on 15th
March 2008. Upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years, as
in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Women and
physically handicapped categories.

Selected candidates for the position of project personnel will
be paid consolidated emoluments of Rs. 10,000/- per month.

The project personnel may be allowed to avail the hostel
accommodation at the institute, as per availability. However, no
House Rent Allowance would be paid in case hostel accommodation
is not available
-
Engagement on the above positions will be purely on a temporary
basis initially and may be extended for further period depending
upon the requirement and the tenure of project.

The selection of the candidate will be based on
Walk-in-Interview to be held on 19th March
2008 at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun.

Canvassing in any form is liable to rejection of the
candidature.

Candidates would be registered at 09:00 A.M. on 19th
January 2008 and the interview will be conducted the same
day.

Candidates should bring the duly filled-in applications with
attested true copies of testimonials of educational
qualifications, research experience, extra curricular
activities, date of birth etc., along with copies of mark sheets
of all examinations.
All original documents should be produced at the time of
registration.

Candidates working in other Organizations/Universities should
bring their applications forwarded through proper channel. In
such cases the candidates will have to produce `No Objection
Certificate’ at the time of Interview.

Applications without enclosures and/or incomplete in any respect
shall be liable to rejection.

Two way travel expenses will be paid to the candidates, selected
for the project(s). The expense will be limited to actual 2nd
class rail/bus fare by the shortest route from his/her place of
stay/residence.

Candidates applying from outside Dehra Dun are advised to come
prepared to stay at Dehra Dun on 18th or 19th
March 2008 and shall make their own arrangements for
accommodation. The Institute will not provide accommodation
facilities for candidates appearing for the interview.
